Mercer County (1-1) rebounded from a disappointing Week 1 to defeat St. Bede (1-1) on the road, 38-13, Friday. Golden Eagles quarterback Colby Cox accounted for five touchdowns in the victory. Cox rushed for three scores and threw for two more. William Fredrickson caught a pair of touchdown passes in the win. Mercer County is at LVC (0-2) in Week 3.
Rockridge (1-1) held on to beat Ridgeview-Lexington (0-2) on the road, 39-32, Friday. The Rockets led 39-6 at halftime. Freshman quarterback Cullen Schwigen had a passing and rushing touchdown in the win. The Rockets are at home against Riverdale (0-2) in Week 3.
Orion (2-0) continued a strong start to the season with a 56-8 win at Mendota (0-2) Friday. The Chargers held a 42-0 lead at halftime. Orion quarterback Kale Filler passed for four touchdowns. The Chargers had two defensive touchdowns in the victory. Orion is at Morrison (2-0) in Week 3.
