Sherrard won a pair of Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) championships Thursday, with titles coming in girls track and field and baseball.
The Tigers dominated the field at the TRAC girls track and field meet to win their fifth consecutive conference title. Sherrard scored 145.5 points, which was 48.5 points ahead of second-place Mercer County (97).
The Tigers took first in six of the 18 events – Anna Churchill in the 1600, Piper Russell, Aliza Dominique, Sophia Bradarich, and Ava Graves in the 4×100, Dominique, Evelyn Weakley, Beth Churchill, and Cami Anderson in the 4×400, Kylie Mathis, Weakley, Beth Churchill, and Anna Churchill in the 4×800, Sadie Shemek in the discus, and Dominique in the pole vault.
Sherrard’s 4×800 team destroyed the TRAC record of 9:56.90 by more than 17 seconds with their time of 9:39.29.
In baseball, Sherrard (14-6, 7-0 TRAC West) won its second consecutive conference championship by beating Monmouth-Roseville (7-18, 2-8 TRAC West) 18-8 in six innings at the Joel Brunsvold Complex.
The Tigers scored nine runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 16-8 lead after trailing 8-7 entering the inning. Harrison Curry went 2-2 with two home runs and four RBI. Eli Matson also went deep and drove in three runs for the Tigers.
Brady Peterson took the win after allowing one earned run in six innings.
Sherrard has won conference championships in boys cross country, girls cross country, boys basketball, girls basketball, baseball, and girls track and field in the 2024-25 school year.
