Much Of Mercer County To Get New State Representation; New Legislative Maps Approved

Mercer County impacted by the new legislative maps approved by the Illinois General Assembly. Local State Rep. Dan Swanson wants the Governor to veto the maps.

Swanson currently represents all of Mercer County, but the new map would have him represent Viola to the east. His district would run north to the Quad Cities and south down through near Macomb. The rest of Mercer County would be represented by Norine Hammond’s current district.
Much of Mercer County would also have a new state senate district, switching from Win Stoller’s current district to Neil Anderson’s. Stoller is opposed to the new maps.

The new maps would take effect with the 2022 election cycle.
