The filing period begins next week for those running in the June primary in Mercer County. County Clerk, Sheriff and Treasurer positions are up for election this year along with county board seats. Filing takes place March 7-to-14. Candidate packets and signature requirements are available online at mercercountyil.org. The primary is June 28.
Those running as independent candidates in the November 8 general election can file July 5-11.
