Dan McGuire’s hire as Sherrard High School head football coach was approved at Wednesday’s District Board of Education meeting.
The school district publicly announced McGuire as its new football coach last month.
He spent 10 seasons as the head coach at Moline from 1991-2000, where he led the Maroons to a 66-32 record. 2000 was the last year McGuire coached high school football.
McGuire replaces Brandon Johnston, who resigned in April after four seasons leading the Sherrard football program. The Tigers went 2-7 in 2024.
