A local state lawmaker happy to see filmmakers doing work in the area. State Senator Mike Halpin was at a recent private screening of the independent film Everything Fun You Could Possibly Do In Aledo, Illinois. He is a supporter of the Illinois Film Tax Credit.
Another independent film, called Paper Plates was recently shot in Viola.
Work is also underway on a documentary film in Aledo featuring late Aledo artist Gertrude Abercrombie.
