Mercer County (1-4) crushed Erie-Prophetstown 16-0 in five innings Wednesday in baseball to earn their first win of the season. Jude Hofmann and Owen Relander each went 3-3 in the win. Carson Boelens threw five scoreless innings in the victory.
The Golden Eagles (3-0) also won big in softball Wednesday, with a 14-0 victory against Orion. Riley King drove in four runs, Madi Frieden plated three runs, and Natalie Thomson had two RBI in the win. Elsie Cook pitched five scoreless innings to earn the win.
