A former Mercer County High School teacher’s inappropriate text messaging case has been continued to next month.
A pre-trial conference for 27-year-old Brandon Livingston was continued to June 9 on Monday. A motion for the continuance was filed Friday in Mercer County Circuit Court. Livingston is facing a Class 3 felony of official misconduct and a Class A misdemeanor of distribution of explicit material to a minor. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in November.
Livingston was arrested in October and placed on administrative leave by the Mercer County School District at the time. He has since resigned from his teaching position. In a press release at the time of the arrest, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department said it “received a complaint on Oct. 28, 2024, regarding seemingly inappropriate text messages that were sent to a minor.”
Livingston was granted pre-trial release following his initial court appearance.
