The inaugural Student Art Gala is Saturday, Sept. 23, in downtown Aledo. Aledo Main Street Director Lindsey Dunn and artist and teacher Maya Balmer came by the WRMJ studios to talk about the event being held at the Graham Building, 129 East Main Street, Aledo. Artwork will be on display from Mercer County Kindergarten through 12th grade art students. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and a live auction starts at 7.
At 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 21, downtown businesses, including WRMJ, will feature student artwork in their windows during the Art Walk.
At 6 p.m. on Friday, the Essley-Noble Museum will feature the artwork of Aledo native and artist, Gertrude Abercrombie, along with a guest speaker.
