In its 29th year, ACE Camp is still a big hit for local elementary school students.
Nearly 200 second-grade students from the Mercer County and Sherrard school districts participated in the annual camp at the Mercer County Fairgrounds on Tuesday. The day-long camp gives students hands-on experiences in areas related to agriculture, conservation, and the environment.
The Mercer County Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom co-sponsors ACE Camp with the Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District. Mercer County Farm Bureau Manager Jenna Preston says it’s always a day of education and excitement.
The first ACE Camp was held in 1996.
