A former ag teacher at Mercer County High School will return to court next month in an inappropriate messaging case.
28-year-old Brandon Livingston has a pretrial conference scheduled for Feb. 2 in Mercer County Circuit Court.
Livingston is facing a Class 3 felony of official misconduct and a Class A misdemeanor of distribution of explicit material to a minor. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in November 2024.
Livingston was arrested in October 2024 and placed on administrative leave by the Mercer County School District at the time. He has since resigned from his teaching position. In a press release at the time of the arrest, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department said it “received a complaint on Oct. 28, 2024, regarding seemingly inappropriate text messages that were sent to a minor.”
Livingston was granted pre-trial release following his initial court appearance.
