To spur new residential and commercial development, the Mercer County Board is looking at a property tax abatement incentive. A resolution was on Tuesday night’s agenda, but further research is being done by Mercer County State’s Attorney Grace Simpson says Mercer County Board Chairman Josh Frieden.
The resolution reads “the County Board of Mercer County do hereby support the enactment of a property tax abatement for the first five years after new construction starts in any taxing body in Mercer County.”
The resolution was tabled Tuesday night.
