The Rockridge Rockets had little trouble with Mercer County in the Class 2A Rockridge softball semi-finals Tuesday as they pounded out a 16-0 four inning win. The Rockets scored four in the first, four in the third and eight in the fourth en route to the win. Maddie Bayne threw a two hit shutout. The Rockets were lead by Hannah Nelson’s three hits and three rbi’s, including a home run. Kylie Stineman took the loss for the Golden Eagles who end their season at 10-17.
In other 2A regional play, at Brimfield, Brimfield-Elmwood beat Annawan-Wethersfield 11-1; at Quincy, Farmington stopped West Hancock 7-3 and Midwest Central handled Quincy Notre Dame 7-5; at Havana, Illini West beat Rushville-Industry 9-0.
In Class 1A at West Central, Galva stopped South Fulton 12-0.
