A New Boston man originally charged with a Class 4 felony of unlawful grooming has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge. 24 year old Isaiah Urquiza was accused of using a “cellular phone in an attempt to entice a minor child, to commit the offense criminal sexual abuse, in that the said defendant showed minor child lewd videos.” He entered a guilty plea today in Mercer County Circuit Court to an amended Class A misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. As part of the guilty plea, Urquiza will serve 24-months’ misdemeanor probation. He was also fined $1,000 and must obtain a psych-evaluation and complete any recommended treatment as well as pay for the victim’s counseling through their 18th birthday. Urquiza was arrested last January.
