Max D. Paulsgrove, 98 of Aledo, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, at Mercer Manor in Aledo. Inurnment will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 9, at Abingdon Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will begin at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 9, at The Depot in Aledo. Nichols Bewley Funeral and Cremation Services, Aledo, is caring for Max’s family and arrangements. Memorials may be left to Aledo United Methodist Church and Aledo American Legion Post No. 121.

Max was born July 7, 1923, in Abingdon, IL, the son of James R. and Alta Hatch Paulsgrove. He married Mary L. “Molly” Downey on July 7, 1977, in Aledo.
Max was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII. He served in the rank of Sergeant from 1946 to 1947.
Max farmed, and later drove a fuel truck for Mer-Roc FS until retirement.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Mary “Molly” Paulsgrove of Aledo; daughters, Diane Jackson of Aledo and Carol (Gary) Furnee of Centennial, CO; sons, Keith (Debbie) Paulsgrove of Bayview, ID, and Gene (Carol) Paulsgrove of Newcastle, OK; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren lovingly expected; one step-daughter, Molly Joseph (Bill) of Aledo; one step-son, Brent (Sue) Colvin of Iowa; and one brother, Glenn (Lucy) Paulsgrove of Knoxville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wendell and his wife, Doris of Knoxville; three sisters, Helen Cross and her husband Charlie of Galesburg, IL, Dorothy St. George of Galesburg, and Garnet Jones and her husband, Reece of Abingdon; two grandchildren, Sarah Paulsgrove, and Morgan Jackson; and one step-daughter, Kris Taylor.
