The friends of Fred Rooth are delivering. As of tonight, Mercer County Sheriff Dave Staley says $13,000 has been raised as a reward fund to find those responsible for the break-in and beating of the rural Joy man. The 83 year old was found badly beaten in his home Monday afternoon with several items taken from the residence, including a safe. The reward fund was just organized Wednesday by Greg Boruff of Reason’s Meats in Buffalo Prairie. Donations can still be made to the reward fund at the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.
