Closings & Cancellations

Mercer County Senior Center, Aledo –  Mercer County Senior Center will be open for staff only, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. We will no longer conduct any face-to-face appointments. No one besides staff will be allowed in the building. All appointments must be made and finalized via the phone, please call 309-582-5492 or 309-582-7221. When someone calls, we will direct on the proper procedures for their individual needs.

All Illinois public and private schools – closed.

The Mercer County TRIAD high-tech crimes and senior fraud presentation with Hale Guyer – cancelled for Saturday, April 4.

New Boston Methodist Church Chicken Noodle Supper – scheduled for Saturday, April 4, is postponed but will be rescheduled.

University of Illinois Extension’s unit offices serving Henry, Mercer, Rock Island and Stark Counties – temporarily closed until further notice.

First Baptist Church of Aledo has cancelled their drive-in worship service for Sunday, April 5.

Aledo United Methodist Church – Suspending all activities until further notice. Their church service will be broadcast on WRMJ beginning at 5:10 p.m., Sunday, April 5.

College Avenue Presbyterian Church – Aledo – will not hold worship service on Sunday, April 5th.

Messiah Lutheran Evangelical Church, Aledo – cancelling all church services through April.

Viola United Methodist Church – No services April 5.

Antioch Baptist Church, Marston area – TBA

Hamlet Perryton Presbyterian Church – No services through April .

Mercer County Family YMCA – Closed until further notice

Quilters Guild Meeting, Aledo – “Sew Day” has been cancelled for April 3.

Mercer/Rock Island County USDA Service Center, Aledo – service center open by appointment only. All visitors will be asked about health and recent travel. Call 309-582-5153 for an appointment.

Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs – representative will no longer be having local hours at the Mercer County Veterans Assistance Office on the first and third Thursday of each month until further notice.

Mercer County Health Department, Aledo – facility not open to the public, but essential services available by appointment only – 582-3759.

Mercer County Family Crisis Center, Aledo – by appointment only – 582-SAFE (7233).

Genesis Health Group, Aledo – Wellness Visits will be scheduled 8 a.m. to noon, Monday – Friday; Sick Visits/Urgent Care will be scheduled 1 – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Edwards River Public Library, Aledo – closed until further notice

New Windsor Public Library – closed until further notice.

Viola Public Library District – closed until further notice

Mercer County Courthouse, Aledo – Mercer County is concerned about the safety and welfare of its citizens and employees. The Courthouse and staff are concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic. As a service to its citizens, the Courthouse will remain open with a reduced staff, and will remain open during this period for ESSENTIAL SERVICES only.
