Aledo Man’s Sentencing In Federal Child Porn Case Continued To November

An Aledo man’s sentencing hearing on two federal child pornography counts has been pushed back a month. 36 year old Joaquin Cook was scheduled to be sentenced today at U.S. District Court in Rock Island, but the matter has been continued to November 8th. He pleaded guilty to the charges in June. Cook faces a maximum of 30 years in prison. The federal case against Cook was announced in February. The child pornography charges were the result of a theft investigation last November where Cook was accused of stealing items from the Aledo Walmart. The court is awaiting on a psychosexual evaluation prior to sentencing. Cook remains in U.S. Marshals Service custody.
