Putting a face on agriculture. That’s what a group of young farmers from Mercer and lower Rock Island County did last night. They called it a Grow to Gather Dinner and invited various Quad City area interests to the Jim and Ethan Coyne farm near Milan. Joe Franks serves on the Young Leader Committee for the Rock Island and Mercer County Farm Bureaus.
Franks is an agronomist for FS and raises commercial sheep on his farm near Reynolds. Last night’s event included a dinner sourced locally and prepared by Chef Andrew Wildermuth from the JBar in Davenport.
