Winter Weather Advisory In Effect Until 1 PM

… WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SLEET… SNOW… AND FREEZING RAIN… WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON.

* TIMING… PERIODS OF SLEET… SNOW… AND FREEZING RAIN WILL OCCUR THROUGH MIDDAY. THE FREEZING RAIN WILL OCCUR MAINLY THROUGH 9 AM CDT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS… UP TO 1 INCH. MINOR ICE ACCUMULATIONS ON ELEVATED SURFACES AND LESS TRAVELED ROADS.

* VISIBILITIES… REDUCED TO UNDER A MILE IN THE HEAVIER SNOW BURSTS.

* TEMPERATURES… IN THE LOWER 30S EARLY THIS MORNING.

* IMPACTS… THE COMBINATION OF SNOW AND FREEZING RAIN WILL CREATE SLIPPERY TRAVEL CONDITIONS IN SOME SPOTS THROUGH MID MORNING… THUS IMPACTING THE MORNING COMMUTE.
