idot snow plowTHE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH… WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* TIMING… MID TO LATE TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH MID MORNING WEDNESDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS… 6 TO 8 INCHES.

* WINDS… NORTHEAST 10 TO 20 MPH… BECOMING NORTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WEDNESDAY.

* VISIBILITIES… SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW MAY REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO LESS THAN A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS… ACCUMULATING SNOW AND AREAS OF POOR VISIBILITY WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS. IN ADDITION… INCREASING WINDS MAY CAUSE DRIFTING AND BLOWING SNOW TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.

.A WINTER STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE OUT OF THE PLAINS TUESDAY SPREADING SNOW ACROSS NORTHEAST MISSOURI… EASTERN IOWA… AND NORTHWEST ILLINOIS. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING BEFORE THE STORM SYSTEM EXITS TO THE EAST. THE HEAVIEST SNOW AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED OVER NORTHEAST MISSOURI… SOUTHEAST IOWA… AND WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS. NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 15 TO 25 MPH BY WEDNESDAY… CAUSING SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. ACCUMULATING SNOW AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL LEAD TO HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS.
