Winter Storm Warning In Effect Saturday Night Into Sunday

winter weather…WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM CST SUNDAY…

* TIMING…SNOW WILL DEVELOP THIS EVENING AND WILL BE HEAVY OVERNIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY. SLEET MAY BE MIXED WITH THE SNOW AT TIMES IN THE EVENING. SNOW WILL DIMINISH TO FLURRIES SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…5 TO 9 INCHES.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS…UNDER A TENTH OF AN INCH. SLEET ACCUMULATION UP TO 1/2 INCH. * WINDS…15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH FROM THE NORTHWEST SUNDAY.

* VISIBILITIES…AS LOW AS 1/4 MILE IN HEAVY SNOW OR BLOWING SNOW LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY.

* TEMPERATURES…25 TO 30 TODAY…LOW TO MID 20S TONIGHT.

* IMPACTS…SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE QUICKLY AND COVER AREA ROADWAYS THIS EVENING AND CREATE DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS OVERNIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY. BLOWING SNOW THROUGH THE DAY SUNDAY WILL CONTINUE ACCUMULATE ON ROADS IN OPEN AREAS AND ALSO RESULT IN AREAS OF POOR VISIBILITY.
