When Illinois inmates are about to be released, after serving their sentences, will they be prepared to leave behind the behavior that put them in jail? They could be getting an opportunity to make that happen under local State Senator Chuck Weaver’s legislation allowing inmates access to approved job search and career building websites. He says the transition process should use the latest technology to help inmates move back into society.
The State Senate passed the measure on a vote of 59 to 0 and it now moves to the Illinois House for consideration.
