Wal-Mart Employees Arraigned

aledo wal martFour employees at the Aledo Wal-Mart were arraigned in Mercer County Circuit Court Friday afternoon.  45-year-old Robert Osborn of Rock Island, 76-year-old Paul DeWilde of Silvis and 56-year-old Tara Speck of Monmouth were all charged with Forgery, a Class 3 felony, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony, and insurance  fraud, a Class A misdemeanor.  53-year-old Laura Diehl of Aledo was charged with Forgery, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a Class 3 felony, and insurance fraud. Diehl, Osborn and DeWilde posted bond and were released from the Mercer County Jail. Speck remains in custody at this time.  All four will have their preliminary hearing on March 18th. Aledo Police Chief Mike Sponsler said the Aledo Police Department was notified by the Asset Protection Manager of Wal-Mart that the company had conducted an internal investigation over the past several months at the Aledo store and that lead to Thursday’s arrests.
