An Aledo man receives a 14-year prison term in a criminal sexual assault case. 21 year old Gunner Terry was sentenced this afternoon in Mercer County Circuit Court. He pleaded guilty in late March to a Class X felony. Terry originally faced five Class X felony counts stemming from alleged incidents involving two children under the age of 13. He was arrested in April of 2017. Mercer County State’s Attorney Meeghan Lee sought the maximum 30-year sentence while defense attorney Nate Nieman argued for a minimum six-year term. Judge Richard Zimmer settled on 14-years. Terry has been in custody on $250,000 bond since his arrest.
