A state championship coach says head injuries–both real and perceived–are impacting participation numbers. Cory Bielema is the head coach at Morrison and he is just two years removed from leading his Mustangs to a state title. He had just 15 juniors and seniors on his roster when this season started. Bielema isn’t saying all the talk about concussions is overkill, but he says it may be one of the factors as to¬†why participation numbers are declining in football.
