St. Germaine Will Seek Wrongful Termination Suit If Fired

February 4th, 2013

Mercer County Supervisor of Assessments Don St. Germaine says he will seek a wrongful termination suit if he is fired Tuesday night. St. Germaine tells WRMJ that he was asked by Mercer County Board Chairman Jeff McWhorter to sign a resignation letter last Friday. When he wouldn’t do it, he says he was handed a termination letter. St. Germaine says his job performance has never come into question and he says he’s never even met with the personnel committee since being hired in August of 2010. St. Germaine labels the personnel matter as “trumped up charges” and “politics.”  He says he will seek pay through the end of his contract, which is November 30, 2014. St. Germaine says he has retained an attorney, but likely won’t attend Tuesday night’s meeting.
