The Sherrard School District is going back to a traditional calendar. They had been operating under an academically balanced calendar since the 2005/2006 school year, but approved making the change last night. Under the academically balanced calendar, school started in early August with two, two-week intersessions in the fall and spring, plus a Christmas break. Beginning next fall, school will start in the Sherrard School District on August 18th with a traditional two-week Christmas break and one-week spring break in March.
Also in the Sherrard School District, Matherville Intermediate School principal Polly Dahlstrom will serve as interim superintendent beginning in January. She replaces Becky Rodocker, who is resigning effective December 31st. And David Ross will serve as interim high school principal in the second semester. He is a retired principal from UTHS in East Moline. Jim Boyd served as interim principal in the first semester.
