Schilling OK With Farm Bill As Long As It Cuts Waste And Fraud Within Food Stamp Program

July 9th, 2012

Western Illinois Congressman Bobby Schilling says he’ll go along with the House version of the 2012 Farm Bill as long as it cuts fraud, abuse and spending within the federal food stamp program. The first-term Republican says he wants more accountability within the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

The House Ag committee member also favors streamlining and consolidating many programs.

Schilling says his staff continues to review the 557 pages of the bill, which should be voted on later this month.
