Kadey Garrett’s two run walk off single gave the Rockridge Rockets a 4-3 win over Pinckneyville this afternoon at the Class 2A Softball semi-finals at Eastside Center in East Peoria. The Rockets trailed 3-1 after a two run homer by Pinckeyville’s Kylie Kling in the top of the sixth. Rockridge got one run back on Hailee Dehner connected for a solo shot. The Rockets loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh when Garrett stepped to the plate and singled to right to give Rockridge the win. Grace Preston went the distance to pick up the victory. Amelia Thomas had two doubles and a triple to lead the offense. Rockridge will play Beecher, a 5-3 winner over Williamsville in the other semi-final game at 11 am Saturday for the state championship.
