Offense was at a premium for our local teams at the Ridgewood Girls Thanksgiving Tournament Thursday night. The Rockridge Rockets lead 24-23 at halftime but managed only 10 second half points as they fell to Elmwood 41-34. United could never find the basket as Knoxville rolled to a 61-12 win. Monmouth-Roseville shut down Orion 62-27 and Riverdale got off to a quick start and never looked back as they toppled Ridgewood 55-31.
At Princeton, the host Tigers jumped on Stark County 54-24.
At the Prairieland Conference girls tournament, Sherrard won the 7th grade championship beating Knoxville 22-15 and the Tigers 8th grade squad also won the title over Knoxville 29-25.
In Junior High boys basketball, Mercer County beat Rowva 39-16 in 7th grade play and the 8th graders won 32-27.
