QC Man Gets New Attorney In Federal Child Porn Case; Investigation Originated In Mercer County

A new attorney has been appointed for one of two men charged in a federal child porn case that originated from Mercer County. The new counsel is for William Ashby of East Moline. Ashby and Aaron Beauchamp of Matherville are charged federally with Sexual Exploitation of a Child—punishable by 15 to 30 years in prison upon conviction. The two were originally charged at the state level in March of 2016 for incidents involving a 16-year-old juvenile. Beauchamp and Ashby remain in U.S. Marshals Service Custody.  A status conference is now scheduled for July 19th at U.S. District Court in Rock Island.
