New Boston Man On Probation For Meth Charge; Arrested For Another Meth Charge

A New Boston man presently on probation for a methamphetamine conviction has been arrested on another meth charge.  Trevor Shoemaker was taken into custody last night. A Mercer County Sheriff’s Department report indicates the incident started when he was observed driving a car while his license was suspended outside of New Boston. Deputies tracked the vehicle to a shed in New Boston where a utility pole was also struck. Shoemaker then reportedly fled on foot and was tracked to the Mississippi River’s edge near the Cargill elevator where he surrendered to a deputy and K-9 unit.  He was charged with possession of methamphetamine, driving suspended, leaving the scene of a crash, fleeing and attempting to elude police and resisting arrest. Shoemaker is in custody at the Mercer County Jail.  He was just placed on 24-months’ probation last August after pleading guilty to a methamphetamine charge.
