Greater Resource Officer Presence For Mercer County School District

The new school year has resulted in a greater police presence in the Mercer County School District.  Through an anonymous donor, the Mercer County School District is reimbursing the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department $25,000 per year for the next three years for a school resource officer at Mercer County Jr. High in Joy says Mercer County Sheriff Dave Staley.

Also this school year, the resource officer’s hours at Mercer County High School have been doubled from two to four hours a day with the school district reimbursing the City of Aledo $25,000 per year under that agreement.
