Moffitt: Legislature Should Stay Out Of IHSA Affairs

MOFFITT IN ALEDOLocal State Representative Don Moffitt says the state legislature needs to stay out of the affairs of the IHSA. He’s responding to House Resolution 895, which seeks a legislative inquiry into the organization that governs high school sports in Illinois. The measure also calls for an evaluation of whether the state should take over duties of the IHSA. Moffitt is not on board.

Although the IHSA works with public schools, the organization is a private non-profit entity and membership by schools is voluntary, not mandatory.
