Local FFA chapters will be well represented at this weekend’s FFA State Proficiency Awards competition. The event is Saturday at the University of Illinois in Champaign and Nathan Flickinger of Rockridge will be there. He was a FFA District 1 winner earlier this month in the Fiber/Oil Crops category.
Also competing this weekend–Sherrard’s Ann Weber in Diversified Livestock; Mercer County’s Matt Lloyd in Poultry Production; and Mercer County’s Nicholas Close in Diversified Crop Production Entrepreneurship. Close is also in the running for FFA Star Farmer of Illinois.
