Moffitt & Joy Fire Department Helps Push For Rural Emergency Response Legislation

moffitt imageGovernor Pat Quinn has signed new laws aimed at improving emergency response in rural areas. And one of the new measures was proposed by the Joy Fire Department, where current state statutes prevented paramedics from providing certain treatments. That will change now says Joy firefighter Scott Thorndike.

Local State Representative Don Moffitt sponsored the bill on behalf of the Joy Fire Department.

The legislation was signed into law yesterday in a bill signing ceremony at the Illinois State Fair.
