Iowa Fugitive Arrested Saturday In Mercer County

A Crime Stoppers tip leads to the arrest of an Iowa fugitive in Mercer County. 28 year old Jacob R N Oberlander of Davenport was wanted on both Iowa Department of Corrections and Scott County warrants for escape. According to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Department report, Oberlander fled from his car on foot after officers made contact with him in Aledo on Saturday afternoon. He was eventually captured and is being held in the Mercer County Jail awaiting extradition back to Iowa. The Aledo Police Department assisted with the pursuit.
