Illinois Declares Propane Emergency

ilpga_logo_rebatesIllinois’ propane community is hailing the governor’s declaration of an energy emergency. This comes as a triple-barreled demand – pipeline problems, grain-drying from a wet harvest, and the current cold snap – overwhelms supply says John Tibbs, director of education and safety for the Illinois Propane Gas Association.

The regulations suspended during the emergency have to do with the number of hours a driver can be on the road and the sort of license a driver needs to transport propane between states, all in the service of bringing more LP gas into Illinois.
