I-280 Accident Involves Two Mercer County Drivers

Two Mercer County truck drivers involved in a three vehicle pile-up in a construction zone near the I-280 bridge in Rock Island County.  According to an Illinois State Police media release, 36 year old Steven Bonynge of Aledo was stopped due to traffic when his dump truck was hit from behind by a semi-truck driven by an Indiana driver and then an oncoming box truck driven by 25 year old Cameron Muske of Joy hit the back end of the semi. There were no injuries. The crash occurred around 7 a.m. this morning with westbound lanes shut down for a couple of hours.
