The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department wants county residents who are in need of assistance regarding a drug or substance abuse disorder to know that there is a help line available to them. The Illinois Sheriff’s Association and Illinois Department of Human Resources along with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department have collaborated to promote the services of the Illinois Help Line for Opioids and other substances says Mercer County Sheriff Dusty Terrill.
The Help Line refers to hundreds of licensed treatment and recovery support providers across Illinois, some of which are funded by the state. Trained Helpline Specialists answer questions, provide support and engage callers with services in Illinois. Helpline services are free and confidential, and available 24/7 by phone at 833-FINDHELP or online at www.helpinil.org.
