Guilty Plea Entered In Mercer County Booster Club Theft Case

May 5th, 2014

circuit courtA guilty plea has been entered in a theft case involving the Mercer County Athletic Booster Club . 40 year old Chastity Jackson of Aledo pled guilty to a Class 3 felony today in Mercer County Circuit Court. The partial agreement includes 30-months felony probation, $1,000 fine plus court costs and 100 days in jail stayed as long as there is strict compliance with probation conditions. Restitution will be determined at a July 7th sentencing hearing–which is between $1,372 and $10,000. A class 2 felony of theft is being dismissed as part of the agreement. According to an Aledo Police Department press release, Jackson was arrested on a warrant last October. She was accused of gaining unauthorized control of between $500 and $10,000 of booster club money for her own personal use. She is free on $50,000 bond.
