Five Mercer County Board seats are up for election in 2018 and only one incumbent has filed for the March primary. It’s Republican Chris DeFrieze of New Boston in District 4. Karen Jones, Brian Anseeuw, Lori Sindelar and Mark Bieri are not seeking re-election.
Other county board candidates filing to be on the March 20th ballot include Democrat Janet Occhi of Keithsburg in District 1; Democrat Gary Gregg of Viola in District 2; Democrat Jim Campbell of Joy in District 4; and Republican Steve Moreland of Aledo in District 5.
Those filing for countywide office to run on the March primary ballot—include incumbent Democratic Sheriff Dave Staley and Republican challenger Dusty Terrill; County Clerk candidates—Democrat Sara Blaser and Republican Jay Doherty; and incumbent Democratic Treasurer Bev Lower.
