February 21st, 2014

aledo wal martFour employees at the Aledo Wal-Mart have been arrested on controlled substance and forgery charges. The arrests were announced last night by Aledo Police Chief Mike Sponsler. Taken into custody were 56 year old Tara J. Speck of Monmouth, 45 year old Robert A. Osborn of Rock Island, 76 year old Paul D. DeWilde of Silvis, and 52 year old Laura E. Diehl of Aledo.

Sponsler says the Aledo Police Department was notified by the Asset Protection Manager of Wal-Mart that the company had conducted an internal investigation over the past several months at the Aledo store and that led to yesterday’s arrests. All four subjects will be arraigned in Mercer County Circuit Court today. Sponsler says this is an on-going investigation and additional charges may be filed.
