Former Aledo Park District Treasurer Lee Sentenced To Four Years In Prison

aledo park districtFormer Aledo Park District treasurer Rick Lee sentenced to four years in prison this afternoon in Mercer County Circuit Court. He was also ordered to pay $136,891 in restitution after pleading guilty to a Class 1 felony theft count last December. The punishment was handed down by Judge Carol M Pentuic. Of the restitution, Lee has paid back nearly $104,000. Court testimony revealed Lee misappropriated between $155,000 and $194,000 over a four year period. He was arrested in February of 2013 following an investigation by the Aledo Police Department and Illinois State Police. Mercer County State’s Attorney Greg McHugh was seeking a five-and-a-half year prison term and Defense Attorney Donavan Robertson was asking for probation for his client. Lee is required to report to the Mercer County Jail next Friday.
