Former Aledo Park District treasurer Rick Lee sentenced to four years in prison this afternoon in Mercer County Circuit Court. He was also ordered to pay $136,891 in restitution after pleading guilty to a Class 1 felony theft count last December. The punishment was handed down by Judge Carol M Pentuic. Of the restitution, Lee has paid back nearly $104,000. Court testimony revealed Lee misappropriated between $155,000 and $194,000 over a four year period. He was arrested in February of 2013 following an investigation by the Aledo Police Department and Illinois State Police. Mercer County State’s Attorney Greg McHugh was seeking a five-and-a-half year prison term and Defense Attorney Donavan Robertson was asking for probation for his client. Lee is required to report to the Mercer County Jail next Friday.
