Mercer County and Sherrard met in non-conference volleyball action Wednesday night in Aledo and the Golden Eagles won the match in straight games 25-15, 25-22. In soccer, Orion-Sherrard ran by East Peoria 6-1 to finish the regular season at 18-7 as they open regional play Saturday. In junior high basketball, Mercer County defeated Monmouth-Roseville in eighth grade action 38-32 while the seventh grade fell 31-17.
