Concern Grows Over Mississippi River Flooding This Spring

Keithsburg flooding in 1993.

Flood risk this spring called a significant concern along the Mississippi River.  Comparisons are being drawn to 1965 and 1993 major flood events, but National Weather Service meteorologist Brian Pierce says 1965 seems more fitting because snow melt was the big issue then.

Pierce has been with the National Weather Service Quad Cities office for over 20 years. Prior to that, he worked in the Madison, Wisconsin station.
