The Orion Chargers got off to the start they wanted against Bureau Valley but could not sustain it as they fell 57-50 in the Class 2A Riverdale sectional semi-finals Tuesday night. Orion lead 12-0 to start the game and 15-3 in the first quarter but Bureau Valley closed the gap to 18-12 at the end of the first quarter and took the lead 29-28 at halftime. The Storm then held on in the second half to advance to the championship game Friday night. Josh Johnson lead Orion with 19 points as the Chargers closed out the season at 18-11.
At the Class 1A Serena sectional, Wethersfield had their worst shooting night of the season and lost to Newark 58-40. The Flying Geese connected on 32% of their shots, including 3 of 26 from three point range. Colton Quagliano lead the way with 20 for Wethersfield which ended the season at 28-3.
