Chargers’ Bid for Baseball State Title Stalls in Semifinals; Morrison & Princeville Fall in Softball State Semis

It took three different Orion pitchers to get through the first inning,  as the Chargers allowed five runs in the frame on their way to an 11-0 loss in the 2A Semifinals. Teutopolis limited Orion to one baserunner over the first three innings, ultimately winning a ‘mercy rule’ game for the right to compete for a state title on Saturday. In 1A baseball, Peoria Heights held on for a semifinal victory over Goreville. On the softball side, both Morrison and Princeville saw their bids for a state title end in the semifinals.
