Andalusia Man Sentenced To Eight Years For Fatal DUI Wreck

It’s eight years in prison for the Andalusia man who killed two of his friends in a 2013 DUI wreck near Milan. A Rock Island County judge yesterday sentenced Mitchell Gayer to the better part of a decade in prison. Gayer apologized to the court and to the victims’ families yesterday. Police say Gayer was nearly twice the legal limit when he crashed his pickup truck into a tree on Milan’s 51st Street West. Jamie Sedam and Clayton Carver died in the wreck. Gayer, Sedam and Carver were all former classmates at Rockridge High School.
